In February 2016, a group of Blind Life in Durham members started rowing in a purpose built dry tank in Durham with the aim of rowing, with a little assistance from sighted people, on the River Wear.  Below is a video and some pictures showing their progress.
















To begin with, they rowed with one oar each and progressed to going out on the river Wear.

































Then  after the summer break, they are now practicing skulling - rowing with an oar in each hand
